Rene Higuita
José René Higuita Zapata was born on 27 August 1966 in Medellín. He is a Goalkeeper from Colombia, and he is famous because of his very brave style of playing as a Goalkeeper.
He is nicknamed el Loco (the Madman) because Rene Higuita was well known for his 'sweeper' playing style taking risk in leaving his post empty to clear balls and even dribble. His most memorable moment is when he saves a shot with a scorpion kick (knees bent, feet curled back and cleared the ball using his back heel). Higuita is the current 4th highest goalscoring goalkeeper of all time with 41 goals plus 3 international goals (isn't that crazy?)
